The association was started by Newman and Marion Marsh of Chester, Massachusetts in 1983,
when a small group of eleven owners met at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
Since then we have grown to over 130 members regionally. NEHA has grown steadily with increased
popularity of Halflingers in New England. We have been an ongoing club since its inception, following the
changes of the breed from draft right to the modern style. NEHA embraces all styles of Halflinger
and all disciplines. NEHA has been promoting our breed at Equine Affaire since its beginning 10 years
ago in New England. We have also hosted clinics, trail rides, drives, and recently an international inspection.
The future of NEHA looks bright with the dedicated effort of its members to bring the Golden Horse to
the awareness of the public.
